Who’s responsible — and what it costs if your property is not covered.
Under Section 31 of Burnaby’s Street and Traffic Bylaw, property owners and strata corporations must clear snow and ice from adjacent sidewalks by 10:00 AM every day following a snowfall — including weekends and statutory holidays. Sidewalks must be cleared to a minimum width of 1.2 metres, with snow deposited on your own property or the boulevard, not onto the street.
